2008 New Orleans International Piano Competition Prize Winners Announced
July 20 – 27

First Prize: Spencer Myer, United States

Second Prize: Dmitri Levkovich, Canada

Third Prize: Vakhtang Kodanashvili, Georgia

Debussy Prize: Spencer Myer, United States

Audience Prize: Kinwai Shum, China"


The top three prizes have been increased in recognition
of the twentieth anniversary of this annual event:

First Prize $20,000
Second Prize  $10,000
Third Prize   $5,000

Each of the finalists will be invited back to New Orleans to perform with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in MASNO’s annual Concerto Showcase next spring. In addition, the First Prize winner will appear in concert with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, and again with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. The Gold Medalist will also be presented in solo recital on Loyola’s Montage Series and in London’s Wigmore Hall.
